ZEZAME 2.0 LAUNCHED

New product enables ‘sticky note’ collaboration for web pages

A new product that makes web page design and review initiatives far easier is launched today. Zezame 2.0 is a web site collaboration system that allows a group of people to add and share input, revisions and comments to draft web pages. It is designed to ease the process of web site design feedback and create new opportunities for group analysis of web pages and sites.

The product is the most important software release the Cambridge, Massachusetts-based company has launched to date. With launch promotional pricing from under US$1,500 for a Starter pack, it represents the culmination of four years research and development in the United States, UK and Sweden into technologies that can enable annotation of web pages within industry standard, open frameworks.

“We believe Zezame is a genuine advance,” said Thomas Bjelkeman-Pettersson, CEO of Zezame. “No system has existed until now that allows groups to share notes and comments about web pages using a standard browser in a manner that can be commercially deployed on a large scale.”

Zezame is a major step forward from previous attempts to tackle the issue of how to review and annotate web pages at two levels. First, it requires no special client-side software apart from an IE5+ browser for Windows. Second, the web pages and annotations are captured and collated in a server-based application that is private. The approach is akin to fixing ‘sticky notes’ to web pages on a collaborative ‘wall’ within your own office. The product is designed for any team working with information held on web pages. As well as design and creative teams, it is expected to be popular in market research, competitive analysis and document review applications. Built on standard HTML, it is simple to roll out to a large audience with no impact on the computer desktop infrastructure. Use of Zezame should cut site development times through faster and more controlled review processes. It can also enable people to tap a wider group of experts and capture their feedback in a simple, intuitive way.

"Providing feedback to website and product development teams in remote locations has always been a cumbersome task. With a product like Zezame the process can be both faster and more complete," said James Brewis, managing director at Signifo Expenses, a leading provider of expense claim solutions for medium-sized companies.

The product is to be marketed initially in Britain, the US and Sweden. Downloadable trial versions are available at www.zezame.com. Distribution is being handled by London-based ISSEL, which distributes web based software products world-wide, including Pilot HitList and Zezame.
